Cameco announced today that its Step Up for Mental Health 5K fun run/walk is returning on May 11, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.

This year’s grants, worth $700,000, will support 24 projects directly benefitting Saskatchewan communities, as well as organizations that provide province-wide services. The projects range in scope from no-cost counselling in northern Saskatchewan to mental health support for frontline workers. The Cameco Fund for Mental Health has awarded 11 grants totaling $88,000 to organizations in Northumberland County working on mental health projects. This year’s grants will benefit a wide range of people and support the delivery of mental health initiatives through a variety of community organizations.

The Cameco Fund for Mental Health has awarded five grants to organizations in the Blind River area working on mental health projects. This year’s grants will benefit students, caregivers and families.

Grant applications are open for the Cameco Fund for Mental Health - Saskatchewan with more than $600,000 available for local mental health initiatives.

Cameco’s Step Up for Mental Health initiative had its most successful year ever, raising $88,000 to support mental health initiatives in Northumberland County and area and $19,000 to support organizations undertaking projects that promote or protect mental health in the Blind River area. The application period for the Fund for Mental Health is now open and closes at 5 p.m. on November 2, 2023.
