Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Step Up for Mental Health! You will be making a difference for a cause that touches us all.

*Please note that all volunteers must be age 16 or older on race day.

Volunteer Role Shift Times Duties
Friday, September 22 -
EXPO/SWAG PICKUP
Bib Pickup 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Provide participants their bibs. Participants will be aware of their bib number prior to arriving at Bib Pick up station. Located at Prairieland Park.
Swag Pickup 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Help distribute Race swag to registered participants, based on bib number. Located at Prairieland Park.
Saturday, September 23 -
EXPO/SWAG PICKUP
Bib Pickup 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Provide participants their bibs. Participants will be aware of their bib number prior to arriving at Bib Pick up station. Located at Prairieland Park.
Swag Pickup 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Help distribute Race swag to registered participants, based on bib number. Located at Prairieland Park.
Hotel Hostess 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Hotel hostess, Sheraton station - to ensure if anyone has questions regarding transportation, times etc. Located at Sheraton Hotel.
Set-up Start Line Crew 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Help set-up the Start line area in Diefenbaker Park (St Henry Ave entrance). Duties include: put up fencing and signage, assemble start line, pop-up tents, arrange tables, etc. Located St. Henry Ave near Prairieland Park/Diefenbaker Park.
Set-up Finish Line Crew 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Help set-up the Finish line area in Downtown Saskatoon Duties include: put up fencing and signage, assemble Finish line, pop-up tents, arrange tables, etc. Located Spadina Cres and 23rd St.
Sunday, September 24 -
RACE DAY!
Entertainment Support 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Entertainment hostesses, specific of that act, ensure they're set up properly and ready to go for when race starts/ cheer runners on. Various locations.
Hotel Host 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Hotel hostess, Sheraton station - to ensure if anyone has questions regarding transportation, times etc. Located at Sheraton Hotel.
Busing Support 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Logistics guidance to participants for busing to ensure everyone knows where they are going. Various locations.
Food Tent 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Setup the Participant Food Tent with beverages and food, which can involve unloading items from storage truck. Also keep area tidy and distribute items to participants after their race. Located downtown on Spadina Cres and 23rd St area.
Leader - Food Tent 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Assist the Participant Food Tent Captain, to coordinate volunteers in this area, and help answer questions. Located downtown on Spadina Cres and 23rd St area.
First Aid Support Station 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Provide first aid support to participants should they require assistance. Stations located throughout course. Various locations on course.
*Must have a valid First Aid Certificate (required)
Participant Bag Drop 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Collect participant bags prior to races, label by bib number, and put in boxes. Located at Start Line at St. Henry Ave (near Prairieland Park).
Participant Bag Pick Up 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Locate bag as individuals finish race by matching bib number to their bag. Located at the Finish Line downtown on Spadina Cres and 23rd St area.
Finish Line Support Team 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Help participants crossing the finish line. Duties include: area set-up or take-down, giving medals. Also keep area tidy, and direct participants towards Food tent area, parking lot or medical assistance if needed. Located downtown on Spadina Cres and 23rd St.
Take-Down Crew 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. After the Race Course closes, help with general clean up of Start Line. Also help load various materials onto trucks, take down tents, un-assemble the start gate and fencing, etc.
