Event information

Will there be a live event?

For 2024, Ontario participants can register for a 5K run/walk in Cobourg, a golf tournament in Blind River, or a golf tournament in Port Hope - or all three! Registrations are now open. Visit the registration page for updates.

In the event that a live event is not feasible due to public health restrictions or other circumstances beyond our control, all registrants will be transitioned to a virtual event.

What time does the run/walk start on May 11 in Cobourg?

The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. at Victoria Park. All registered participants will receive a complete event guide by email closer to the event.

Is the course wheelchair accessible?

The 5K course is entirely on pavement.

Are strollers allowed on the course?

Yes, we welcome families to bring their little ones.

Are dogs allowed on the course?

Service dogs are permitted on the course with a handler. Unfortunately, regular pooches are not.

Blind River Sponsorship Packages

Port Hope Sponsorship Packages

Can I sponsor even if I don’t golf?

We have a variety of sponsorship packages available. Most packages include golfers, but there are some that don’t. If you would like to take a higher sponsorship level without golfers, please email us at stepupontario@cameco.com.

What is included with my golf registration?

Registration for both tournaments includes the following:

- Golf
- Cart
- Dinner
- One free entry into the raffle draw
- Swag bag including golf balls, tees, snack

What happens if it rains on the day of the tournament?

Both tournaments are played rain or shine. We recommend coming prepared with a golf umbrella..

What format is the tournament?

Both tournaments are scramble format.

Scramble Rules:

- You must use a minimum of 3 drives for each team member.

- Choose the best ball position for each successive shot.

- Selected ball may be moved one club length on fairway – no closer to the hole. Balls in the rough cannot be moved to the fairway.

- Balls on the green may be moved 6 inches – no closer to the hole. (You cannot improve your lie. ie. You cannot go from 2nd cut to 1st cut.)

- If the selected ball is in a hazard (sand), it must be played from the hazard.

- Teams consisting of less than 4 players may allow one member to hit an additional shot in lieu of the 4th member tee to green (it must be the same person from tee to green for the entire hole). You then alternate players in the same order for the rest of the course. For example if you have a three man team the “A” will take the extra shots on your first hole, the “B” player will take the extra shots on the second hole, the “C” player will take the shots on the third hole and then back to the “A” player again. Keep alternating for the entire 18 holes. (The above rotation must be followed from whichever hole you are starting on as it is your first hole.)

(If you are on a three person team, on the holes with the closest to the pin and the longest drive contests your first shot is the one that counts for these contests, not the extra shot allotted the team!)

- NO alcohol to be brought on the course from home/cars. Alcohol is available from the beverage cart or the clubhouse.

- Please hand in your score card as soon as you are finished golfing.

- In the event of a tie, we will draw a random hole number and the team with the lowest score at that hole wins.
